lon done. and please.

i am wasted. the shows in london at the roundhouse were....fucking historic.
they truly felt like a reward for six years of effort. all of the people, all of the performers who have been with us for so long, all of the musicians we played with, my mind was just blown every time i turned the corner. the brigade was in top form, with so many people from so many countries creating absolute chaos and beauty in the lobby. have to say the roundhouse itself was a little sterile and the newly renovated architecture made it feel a little like an airport, so we had our work cut out for us. it worked, it worked. it was beautiful. friday was good, saturday was epic. we filmed, it was captured, it was real, it is over. we're done touring for at least six months. my voice is gone. not lost, gone. will it ever come back? i miss it.

i am laid flat, can't say much and about to get on a plane back to boston and my brain is pudding, but must say this.

for those of you in the states: please, please, please. vote tomorrow. please. please.
if you have time, go to moveon.org and make calls tonight.

a lot of you registered to vote with Music For America at our shows......
if you know you're registered and don't know where your voting location is, it takes three minutes of searching on the net.
if you don't find it, google "(your city) election department" or city hall and CALL THEM. they will take your name and birthday and tell you where to go. you can do it.

michael moore said it good in an email he sent this morning, so i pass it along.

...............................

Friends,

Tomorrow night, those who sent 2,800 of our soldiers to their deaths -- all because of a lie the president concocted -- will find out if America chooses to reward them -- or remove them.

As good as things look for the Democrats, do not pop the corks and start the partying yet. Do not believe for a second that the Republicans plan on losing. They will fight like dogs for the next 24 hours -- relentless, unforgiving, nonstop action to squeeze every last conservative voter out of the house on election day. While the rest of us go about our day today, tens of thousands of Republican volunteers are knocking on doors, making phone calls, and lining up rides to the polls. They're not sleeping, they're not eating, they're not even watching Fox News. A day without Fox News? That's right, that's how insanely dedicated they are.

But the reason they have to work so hard is that, before they can get the vote out, they first have to completely turn around the massive public opinion against them. Almost 60% disapprove of Bush. Over 60% are opposed to the war. Those are landslide numbers. And the American people are not going to turn pro-war or into Bush-lovers by tomorrow morning. So it should be easy for us, right?

Yup. Just like it was when we won the popular vote in 2000 and when we were ahead in the exit polls all day long in 2004. You know the deal -- the other side takes no prisoners. And just when it seems like things are going our way, the Republicans suddenly, mysteriously win the election.

Well, it's not really that mysterious. They're out there busting their asses this very minute, right down the street from you. What are YOU doing? You're on a computer reading my cranky letter! Stop reading this! We have only a few hours left to wrestle control of the Congress away from these "representatives" who, if returned, will continue shipping our young men and women over there to die.

Here's what I'm imploring you to do right now:

1. Go through your address book on your cell phone and computer and call/e-mail everyone you know. Tell them how much it would mean to you if they vote on Tuesday. If they don't know where to vote, help them find their polling place.

2. Contact MoveOn.org ASAP. They will connect you to the folks who need you to make calls.

3. Contact your local Democratic Party headquarters. There are close races in nearly every state. They'll put you to work -- on the ground or on the phones. Or go to the local HQ for the Dem candidate running for the House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate and say, "Put me to work!"

OK, turn off the computer -- and I will, too. There's serious work to do. The good news? There's more of us than there are of them. Let's prove that, once and for all.

Is there anything more important that you have to do today? Nothing less than the rest of the world is depending on us.

Yours,
Michael Moore

Was at London on Friday, you guys produced a brilliant evening of entertainment. To have seen you on the steps on your journey from support to NIN at the Astoria, playing the Download festival, headlining your own sell out gig at the Astoria and then this triumph at the Round House is something I am very proud to have experienced.

The whole evening was great. The entertainers you had moving around the place were great and helped provide a great atmosphere in the crowd. The support acts were brilliant, with Jason Webley and Baby Dee being the stand out musical acts for me on a great and varied bill of support that you had put together.

Then there was you guys, I can only describe you set as Epic. Both of you put every ounce of effort you could muster into your set, you must have been running on empty by the end! It was a real treat to hear The Jeep Song played live. Also, never mind the chap at the bar who was yelling War Pigs, I was much more thrilled to hear Delilah and Sing instead!

I was lucky enough to be at the Round House with a couple of friends who I got into your music after the NIN gig, it was their first Dresden Dolls gig and they loved it!

It was truly a pleasure to share the evening with you. I hope the DVD does it justice. Here is to seeing you guys again when you have recovered!

Best wishes to the Dolls and all their fans, and good luck in the election from Canada. Regardless of the outcome, why don't y'all come up and visit us some time?

I was there friday, it was awesome. I can't believe that you played The Jeep Song, it was truly an honour just to be there. The best part was the dancers in "Gravity" or everyone joining in for "Sing", a great song (no matter what anyone says).

Met Jason Webley outside who was fantastic and got one of his CDs. Thank you for such an event. Can't wait for the DVD.

Zen Zen Zo were just amazing. I just wanted to take home the girl with the red hair.

I have loads of pictures at my Bitsy Ramone blog. Feel free to use any that you want for the DVD or anything else. No charge.

after this weekend you will never get rid of me. i will stalk your uk gigs relentlessly. how did you slip past me? friday rocked (despite spending 4 hours in casualty) saturday just blew me away. i can't stop coming out with gushings about you guys - my students are bored of hearing you blast out of my classroom every time i'm in here by myself. i'm gutted i didn't have the guts to come back stage with pixie and say 'hi' ... i'm a tad on the shy side ... maybe some other time.
but thank you thank you thank you ... for simply existing!

we must get this so-called president out of office. i've recently been in the play les miserables at my high school, and it's amazing how close in comparison it is to how times are now. war, forbidden love, death.

i hate how people say that we would be nowhere without mr. bush (i refuse to title him anything bigger than mister). that is completely untrue. we would be BETTER OFF without him. it. compilation of atoms. "but he was in the military!" well that might be why its so fucked up now.

im only 14, but i have a wide range of beliefs and things. i dont agree with anyone on anything. i'll let them be ignorant right-winged fucks, but i'll let them know what i think about the situation.

my goals before i die are to make the world a better place i.e. help third world countries out before you try to shoot up their homes and families leaving them with nothing. and to become a musician and to share my music with people in the world.

thanks for the space.

Hi there, this is Alice (daughter of Alice's_Dad... see above) and I just wanted to say that the show on saturday was amazing and the best night of my life. We drove for hours to get there, and I needed the loo but hung on because I was at the front and didn't want to lose my place. There was a really tall girl infront and she wouldn't move so I had to stand on tiptoes the whole time but it was awesome (I would like to thank the guy who moved so I could see better- I owe you!). All the acts were great, it was perfect. I learned about a load of new bands and peformers that my Dad already knew. The highlight of the show for me was when you sang 'Sing' and everyone had the sparklers, it was an incredible moment. I also liked Mad World. When Amanda fell into the audience I ended up poking her in the armpit- I want to apologise. I was shouting out 'Christopher Lydon' quite a bit- but I don't think you heard (the people around me did, they kept giving me funny looks)

All in all it was a perfect show, and if you ever have the guts to come back to the UK, I would love to be on the Brigade.

democrats have power.

I'm super excited for this. Maybe, just maybe, we're not all that corrupt anymore.

i'm crossing my fingers and toes for that to be true.
